My thesis project is titled Vellere: the veil between eroticism and death. Vellere is a Latin verb meaning: to unveil, to rip open.
it was a journey of discovery and rediscovery. Discovery on an academic level because I was able to study, reflect and deal with the veil's complex and meaning-rich element; on a personal level, I was able to rediscover gestures in wrapping the body with fabric that came from my country of origin: Cambodia
In the research part, of the veil, or veiling, was approached both as a physical object used to cover the face, head, and body, but also on a conceptual level as that element that conceals the essence of reality from the viewer's sight
